About Me

My name is Jennifer. I've got a last name, too, but I don't post it here.

I'm a 28-year-old single girl living the not-so-crazy life in Small Town, Arkansas. When I was in high school and college in Jonesboro, I always swore I'd move to the big city after I graduated. Instead I moved to a town 1/10 of the size of Jonesboro. Life has taught me to not make plans.

I live with a toy poodle named Princess, who was given to me by the previous owner of my old home. Although I love dogs, I wanted neither a toy poodle nor a dog named Princess, but I took her out of pity. She's weird and silly and horribly spoiled, but I love her elderly little self to bits.

I also share my home with a German Shepherd named Fred. He was a surprise from my father on the day after I opened my big mouth and said I'd like a German Shepherd someday. Before he came to live here, Fred flunked out of Search & Rescue (probably because he suffers from doggie ADHD). Fred also has an overwhelming love of squeakers and an extreme shoe fetish. I haven't slept through a night since he joined the family.

My parents live 15 miles away. They meddle a little, and hint about wanting grandchildren a lot. I try to ignore both.

I teach 7th & 8th grade English and 7th grade math. Sometimes I adore it, and sometimes I completely despise it. Even though I have my master's degree in the area, I'm not sure I see myself spending the rest of my career in the classroom.
One month after this challenge begins, I will begin working on a second master's so that I can become a librarian in a public school. No, textbooks won't count toward my list (unless one starts with an "X".)

I'm a smart girl, a funny girl, a weird girl, a fat girl, an agnostic girl, a timid girl, a temperamental girl, a nerdy girl, and a forgetful girl.
